In order to give the subject some meaningful context, I think it would be useful to begin a topic by first reviewing its utility. After that I would certainly go through some simple examples. I should emphasise that there are no foolish questions, anything to assist a student's understanding is vital. After I've run through a few instances, I want to have the student run through their personal case, talking to me as if they were the tutor and I was the student.

Many researches have shown that attempting to discuss a principle you have just learned assists greatly in remembering and comprehension. If I'm satisfied with their teaching, I wish to evaluate their critical thinking by giving them a problem based upon whatever found out in the lesson, however with subtle changes that require the student to actively engage with the work, rather than be on "autopilot".

Home assignment will be established on the topic reviewed (absolutely nothing extra intense), and also further lessons will certainly be spent answering exam-styled enquiries prior to carrying on to the next topic.
